Weld Cements
Weld cements are uses on industrial "plastics" for clear "welding" of parts. They are predominantly uses in the sign and point of sale display industries for bonding a wide range of different plastics. Those plastics suitable for bonding this way include; acrylic (or Perspex), PVC, ABS, CPVC, styrene, HIPS and more. The only ones not suitable are those starting with the word "poly" such as polyurethane and polyethylene. These "polyolefins" are very difficult to bond so contact our Sales Department for help. The weld cement range has been widely tested in the plastic and point of sale industries. If you have a substrate which does not appear in the above table and need to bond it, please contact our Sales Department using the contact form, send some samples of the material(s) for the attention of the laboratory and we will endeavour to formulate a weld cement suitable for your application. Most weld cements in the table can be applied by syringe except for the slow drying grades WC101 and 104 which are too thick for this method. If you want a good “all rounder” for bonding most plastics without having to stock a number of different grades, the WC 120 is ideal. This product can be made slower if required by making it thicker and consequently, providing gap fill capability.
